The Kuaka

LI: To create an infographic that tells others about the migration of the kuaka

This week for reading I created a infographic that explains the migration of the Kuaka Bird.

First, I of course learnt about how they migrate for such long distances without stopping and where they end up. I used a story that our teacher had sent us earlier.

Next, I made the DLO, I added a image and set up a text box to later explain where they go.

Lastly, I added where they go, including contries such as China, Japan, Indonesia, and more in Asia.

Mapping The Migratory Flight Of The Kuaka

LI: To use Google My Maps to show the migratory flight path of the Kuaka.

This week for reading I have created a map showcasing the flight of the kuaka bird. (NZ – Alaska).

First, I reasearched about their migration, it’s a stunning 12,650kms NONSTOP! Very impressive right?

Next, I went onto google my maps, and marked the countries that they travel to.

Lastly, I linked it onto my groups doc for reading and bloged.

Dot To Dot Connections: The Kuaka

LI: To understand the concept of visual storytelling

This week for reading I created a dot to dot connection with the kuaka bird, using their apperance, habitat, journey, and more of what they do.

First, I thought of a couple words that connect to the Kuaka to compare to eachother. I chose mostly words that are about their migration.

Next, I started by connect a word to another, and the other word to another, creating a cycle. It was quite hard to read due to all of the words being quite crowded.

Lastly, I bloged the task and also created a Infographic. I will be blogging about that very soon.

I enjoyed this task for collecting all of my knowladge into one making it very easy to reasearch about this bird.

I need to improve on making my task easier to read.

I was good at completing it very fast.

Working In Groups

LI: To understand that everyone has a role to play when we are working in groups

This week I made a Blog about our reading task, working in groups.

First, we were put into a Reading group based of our reading level (I think). I worked on our main task, learning about the godwit bird and their migration.

Next, my group had voted on a group leader to show who would control the group for the day. They would control the noise, the writers, and groups. Miss Anderson had told us to change leaders everyday.

Lastly, I wrote the notes that I had learnt about the godwit throughout the videos and digital text.

Papyrus AI Sory Making.

LI: To write a narrative from an AI prompt

This week we got to explore Papyrus AI in Writing.  Papyrus AI is a generative AI which has to do with creating things. We used it to help us write a narrative story that incorporated two different fairy tales : Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid.  Papyrus asked us for our ideas, and gave us feedback to improve our paragraphs, until we had completed our whole narrative story. I liked that it was very easy to understand and use. Here is my story :

          Sorce: Google

Ariel was a red-headed mermaid whose beauty was admired by every fish in the sea. She lived in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean in the lost castle of Atlantis, hidden by colourful reefs. One day, Ariel went to the surface and saw a sailing boat, where she spotted a handsome prince. As the boat passed by, she recognised her father walking with a woman her age. Her father fell into the water, and Ariel saved him. That’s how Ariel met her long-lost sister, Belle—they had been separated during childhood due to a bad bond between them.

The two sisters reconnected and shared their lives with each other. Ariel told Belle about the prince she had seen, describing him as having a strong soul and a great face, while Belle was faced with an unfortunate situation of falling for a beastly-looking prince. Belle’s father had been imprisoned and got sick, prompting his release, and Belle took the punishment in his place. Despite the appearance of her prince, Belle felt as if he was becoming nicer.

As they spent more time together, Ariel decided to meet the prince and discovered that the prince was Daniel, with whom she started a relationship. Ariel asked Belle if she had feelings for her own prince. Returning to the prison, Belle found the beast prince dying. Remembering his kindness and realising her true feelings, she declared, “I love you!” He transformed back into his human form, revealing that he was under a spell. The sisters soon discovered that the princes were brothers.

Shocked by the incredible coincidence, the sisters laughed off the surprising twists of fate. Their story taught them the importance of seeing beyond appearances and valuing the bonds of family and love. It demonstrated that even strained relationships could be healed with understanding and compassion.

African Masks

This week for reading LS1 learnt a little bit about the african culture, including the spirits and the clothing.

First, I made a copy of the slides,  they were about the mask meanings, what we could infer about them, and a passage about the culture.

Next, I got quized about the african culture and masks. They even quized me about where specific countries masks mean.

Lastly, I bloged.

Pokemon Card

This week for Reading LS1 made our own Pokemon cards. We illustrated, wrote and planed our card.

First I started by doing a paper worksheet and finished it, in the worksheet it quized us about Pokemon after reading the text, at the back there was a template to plan our Pokemon and trainer, though we don’t trace a trainer in the digatal task.

Next I went on to the next task, the digatal one. In this task we could choose to either use the already planned one or use a new image, for me I used a new one as I couldn’t just imagine what the colours for the planed one could be.

Lastly I wrote the backstory of the character  and his attack and defending skills. I also made the card, adding the image, info, and decorations of the card its self, I bloged the task and went to Maths.

Beautiful right? (sarcasm)

Tongan Travel – Reading

This week for Reading LS1 recrateed graphs on the story of Tomu going to see his aunties and uncles in Tonga.

First I made a copy of the slides and read about what Tomu’s father said. “I will tell you about you’re uncles and aunties, then ask me 3 questions about them” the questions were turned into graphs.

Next I Recreated the graphs using 4 classmates with my own questions.

Lastly I bloged my task.

Usain Bolt Infernces

This week for Reading I revised infering using a Usain Bolt video.

First I watched a video about his childhood and what inspired him to run. Apparently, every single school day he would run through multible streets to get to school. He was always on time which meant he was pretty fast for a primary student.

Next I made a copy of the template. I learnt what a key moment was. It’s a important event that happens during your lifetime. I screenshotted 5 key moments of Usian Bolts life. Including his first race.

Lastly I bloged my work.
