SLJ (Summer Learning Journey).

LI: To celebrate our success.

Last week PBS (Panmure Bridge School) had their Summer Learning Journey celebration assembly. Mrs Grant came and presented our certificates and prizes. My certificate is for participation. The SLJ was a fun activity to do because the activitys allow us students to let out our creativity.

Turbo The Dog

This week for My Summer Learning Journey I have learnt about a amputee dog, due to that I have added some prostectics to help the dog walk again.

I first watched a video about “Turbo The Dog” who was born without his 2 front legs. I then saw that the dog was apart of the chihuahua breed. I looked for a simple image of that breed to start the task.

I found a simple clipart photot and began tracing everything but the front two legs (Later on I will add the prostectics). When I was finished tracing the tail, body, face, back legs, and details I then used some creativity to think of what prosthetics would be most effective.

Then I thought and thought and thought… until, I remembered these robot dogs that you could buy in real life. They use a metal leg that replicates a dogs, including joints, a battery, and stable feet plant at the bottom for the dog to stand.

I added the image and traced it, matching the body of the dog. I then finished my task and bloged it.

This is the final project, I hope you enjoyed this Summer Learning Blog post, and the finished results.

Legs Tally – Step it Up

This week for The Summer Learning Journey, I have done the step it up from the “legs tally” task.

This time for this task, instead of using mathematics questions to teach me about the centipede it gave me a text about the centipede to find facts off for my task.

It gave me pretty much everything about a centipede is inside of that task, and something that was really easy was that the questions were in order from the information being in the start of the text to the last part of the task.

For the last part of this task I just answered the rest of the questions and just bloged my task.

Legs Tally – Kick Start

LI: Learn more about centipedes.

This week on The Summer Learning Journey I have finished a template about the centipedes.

It used math to explain the body nof the centipede, but a fact that I found out on the next task was that centipedes don’t actually have 100 legs normaly,  but actually 30 on the regular.

It asked me questions like, “How many pairs would a centipede have if it had 100 legs”.  The next question used fractions using fractions like 1/5 of 100 to 1/2 of 40.

This task on the summer Learning journey really taught me some things about the centipedes anatomy and also using fun mathematical ways to teach me about the centipede.

SLH Thursday Kick Start

This SLJ kick start was about discovering a new marine species, and creating it in Polypad.

First, I watched a tutorial on how to work poly pad. I used shapes, lines, and arrows to create a crab like creature.

Next, I thought about on how it would hunt, eat, transport around the ocean. I made it a very nice looking creature that walks and swims on the seabed.

Lastlty, I added the mouth and eyballs. I then bloged the kick start task.

Kick Start – Thursday Fish And Chips Menu.

This Kickstart I had to create a special fish and chips menu, including a whole new name, shop, and menu.

First I made a Google slides. I started on the layout, name and the differences and simmalarities. The name was “Pick Your Chips” it sounded similar, just a bit different.

Next I started to include different foods like, gravy, fried chicken, salsa, coleslaw, and even spicy chips. I made the design, adding a vending machine and drinks.

Lastly I added the prices, desserts and tables. I had made my own Fish and chips.
